Early French Soft Paste Porcelain Catalogue

A specialist catalogue for E&H Manners, London-based dealers in rare pottery and porcelain. Shared digitally and in print with collectors and clients, the publication explores the evolution of early French soft-paste porcelain — from its late 17th-century beginnings through to the establishment of the royal Vincennes-Sèvres factory in the mid-18th century. The pieces — drawn primarily from a single private collection — capture a period of exceptional artistry and invention in French decorative design.

The layout responds directly to the expressive forms and flourishes of the pieces themselves. Shaped images reflect their curves and silhouettes, while the serif title font takes on a more decorative tone — echoing the joyful, elaborate character of the porcelain. A spacious layout and bold use of negative space allow the pieces to sit with impact, while careful attention to visual hierarchy ensures each form is given room to hold its place on the page.
